Hanan’s career as a journalist began by covering US-led invasion of Afghanistan, and the fall of Taliban regime. His journalistic work is published around the world. In the beginning of 2001, Mr Habibzai began hired by the BBC Pashto service as a correspondent, in the same time reported the post-Taliban situation in Afghanistan to the Reuters News Agency. He also carried out academic researches on various aspects of Afghan media outlets such as ethics and complexity of newsgathering which published in academic publications in the UK. He is one of the contributors to book Afghanistan, War and the Media: deadlines and frontlines (2010) examined challenges facing media coverage. Hanan is specialized in global journalism, writes on regional affairs. He is MA in media and communication from Coventry University, UK.
